Privacy notice
What we collect, why, who can see it, and your rights. Version 2026-10-31.1.
1. Who we are
The Jeepney Universe, the sovereign framework behind Jeepney.io, runs Jeepney Hospitality and decides why and how personal data is used in it ("we"). You can reach us through the contact and support pages on Jeepney.io. Our general Jeepney.io privacy policy also applies; where this notice is more specific for Jeepney Hospitality, this notice applies.
2. What we collect
From guests: your account details, the booking requests you send (dates, number of guests, room, your message), messages with a property, your reviews, and the amounts held, refunded or paid for your bookings. From hosts: your account details, your property listing (name, address and location, phone, description, photos, rooms and rates, calendar), calendar links you add, booking and message records, and the documents you upload (business permits, accreditation, claim proofs). From visitors: a daily count of views for each property page, without building a profile of you. We do not collect card numbers: money moves through the Jeepney wallet.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis
To run the service you asked for: show listings, handle requests and messages, hold and release money, and settle problems. To keep the platform safe: verify properties, check permits, prevent fake listings and fake reviews, and decide disputes. To meet legal duties such as accounting and tax records. To improve the service from counts that do not identify you. Where the law requires your consent for something, we ask for it first.
4. Who can see what
A property sees the name or username, dates, party size, message and ID-verified status of a guest who asks to stay, and nothing of the guest's identity documents. A guest sees a property's public listing, its phone number and its replies. Our reviewers and administrators can see listings, bookings, messages involved in a dispute, and the documents hosts upload. Territory heads and division leads see property registrations they are asked to review, but not guests' bookings, messages or documents. Anyone can see a property's public listing, photos, rating and reviews with the reviewer's first name.
5. Sharing
We share personal data with a property only as described above, with the providers that host, store and deliver our service and who must protect the data, and with the authorities when the law requires or a lawful order is made. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
6. Calendar links
The private calendar link we give you for each room shows dates only, as Reserved or Not available, and never guest details. Anyone you give the link to can read those dates, so keep it private. When you paste another channel's calendar link, we read it to close the same dates here.
7. Keeping it safe and how long
Documents are stored in a private folder outside the public website and opened only by our reviewers, and photos are re-saved so nothing hidden stays inside them. We keep booking, money and dispute records as long as needed for accounting, to settle disputes and to meet the law. We keep documents while a listing is active and as long as the law or a dispute requires. When we no longer need personal data, we delete it or remove what identifies you.
8. Your rights
Where the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) or another data protection law applies to you, you have the right to be informed, to access your personal data, to correct it, to object to its use, to ask us to block or delete it, to data portability, and to be compensated for damage from unlawful use. Ask us through the contact and support pages on Jeepney.io. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the National Privacy Commission or the authority that applies to you.
9. Properties abroad and guests abroad
Jeepney Hospitality lists properties in many countries. When a guest and a property are in different countries, the guest's booking details are shared with that property so it can host them, and are handled under these rules wherever the property is.
10. Children
Jeepney Hospitality is for adults. A guest travelling with children gives the property only the number of guests, not the children's personal data, unless the property needs it by law.
11. Changes
We may update this notice and will tell you when we do. The version and date are shown at the top of the page.
