U4GM Why Get the PoE 2 Book of Specialization
It doesn't take long in Path of Exile 2 to realise weapon swapping isn't just a flashy extra. It changes how your character actually plays. One setup might clear packs, the other might delete bosses, and the Book of Specialization is what lets that idea breathe. Those extra weapon set passive points are easy to overlook at first, especially when you're busy sorting gems, gear, and maybe checking trade options like Exalted Orb buy for smoother upgrades, but they become a big deal once your build starts asking for tighter planning.

Why these books matter
The Book of Specialization gives you +2 weapon set passive skill points, and that sounds small until you've tried to stretch one tree across two different roles. You don't want your bow setup wasting points meant for a mace skill, or your bossing weapon stuck with passives that only help clearing. These points let each weapon set feel more deliberate. You're not making a whole second character, but you are carving out a cleaner version of the one you've already built.

Quest rewards you shouldn't skip
The safest way to get these books is still questing. No drama, no hoping the next boss finally drops one. In Act 1, Una's Lost Lute quest in the Ogham Farmlands is usually one of the first chances players get. It's simple enough: track the item, deal with the threat, bring it back. Later, Act 2 gives you Tradition's Toll in the Deshar Region, tied to the Serpent Clan and their rituals. Then there's Clearing the Way, which pushes into the Act 2 and Act 3 stretch. You'll need to beat Ak Thi and Anun Dr at Khari Crossing, then speak with Risu in the Khari Bazaar for the reward.

Farming when quests are done
After the guaranteed rewards are gone, boss farming is the next route, though it's not something I'd call relaxing. The Crowbell in the Act 1 Hunting Grounds is popular because the fight is quick once your damage is decent. Kabala, the Constrictor Queen in the Keth Region, is another target in Act 2, and she's worth checking if you're already farming that area. In Act 3, the Mighty Silver Fist in the Jungle Ruins hits harder, but players often chase him because the potential reward feels worth the trouble. Just don't expect every run to pay out.

Other ways to squeeze out points
Books aren't the only things tied to weapon set points. The Sacrificial Heart, which can drop from Vaal Goliaths, is one of those items people mention because it can push a build a bit further. The Tattoo of Hinekora is rarer, but it's another piece worth knowing about if you like hunting every possible advantage. These aren't items you should build your entire plan around, though. Treat them as bonuses. If they drop, great. If they don't, your character should still function without feeling broken.

Planning your two setups
A lot of players make the mistake of spending points as soon as they get them, then regret it a few zones later. It's better to decide early what each weapon set is for. Maybe one is fast mapping, with area damage and mobility. Maybe the other is slower, heavier, and made for bosses.
